Cartography. Creativity. Sustainability.
I have been combining my passion for GIS, cartography, and the environment for 27 years. I am the Environmental and GIS Manager for Liberty Gold, a company focused on exploring for gold the Great Basin of the United States. I build positive relationships with government agencies and stakeholders, manage environmental permits, and oversee GIS operations. I am the 2022 recipient of the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining Environmental Excellence Award for innovative use of GIS to track reclamation that goes above and beyond industry standards and state regulations. I also explore ways to apply GIS and cartography to genealogy. I hold degrees in environmental policy and geology. In May 2023 I completed the Advanced GIS Professional Capstone Certificate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on cartography. Additionally, I hold a GIS Professional certification and certificate from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies. I live in Reno, Nevada, and in my spare time, I sing, bake, hike, study family history, and herd cats.
